These Terms of Service govern all commission agreements and interactions between SarahCVL Art (the "Studio") and clients. By submitting a commission brief or making a payment, you agree to these terms. These terms are governed by Egyptian law.
These terms apply to all commission work carried out by SarahCVL Art, including digital illustrations, portraits, book covers, social media graphics, decorative artwork and commercial design projects. They apply to commissions from clients located in Egypt and internationally.
Use of the website at sarahcvlart.com is also subject to these terms. The website is provided for informational purposes. Browsing the website does not create a contractual relationship. A contractual relationship is established only when a commission is confirmed in writing and a deposit is received.
A commission is considered agreed when the following conditions are met: the client has submitted a brief, the Studio has provided a written quote and timeline, the client has accepted the quote in writing, and the required deposit has been received by the Studio.
The quote constitutes the scope of work. Any additions to scope after the commission is agreed may result in revised pricing and timelines, which will be communicated in writing before additional work proceeds.
All commission agreements are documented by email. Email correspondence constitutes the written record of the agreement.
The client is responsible for providing a complete and accurate brief. The brief should include: artwork type, subject description, reference images where applicable, intended dimensions, intended use and any specific requirements.
The Studio will produce an initial sketch or composition based on the approved brief. The client must review and approve the sketch before detailed work begins. Approval may be given by email confirmation. Once sketch approval is given, the Studio proceeds to the finished artwork based on the approved composition.
Changes requested after sketch approval that alter the fundamental composition or subject matter are treated as a new commission and priced accordingly.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before the commission enters the Studio queue. The remaining 50% balance is due upon completion, before final files are released to the client.
All prices are quoted inclusive of the revision rounds specified in the commission type. Prices for additional revision rounds, source files or extended licensing are quoted separately.
Invoices are issued for all transactions. Payment methods and accepted currencies are confirmed at the quote stage. Late payment may result in a delay to project delivery.
The Studio reserves the right to withhold delivery of final files until full payment is confirmed.
The number of revision rounds included in a commission is specified in the commission agreement. A revision round covers adjustments to color, composition, detail and text elements within the approved sketch. Each revision round allows the client to submit a consolidated list of changes. Revisions are not processed in fragments across multiple emails unless agreed.
Revision rounds do not include changes to the fundamental concept or subject matter approved at sketch stage. Such changes are treated as a new commission.
Additional revision rounds beyond those included are available. The cost per additional round is confirmed in writing before the revision proceeds.
Final files are delivered digitally upon receipt of full payment. Delivery is by download link or email attachment, depending on file size. Download links remain active for 30 days from the delivery date. The client is responsible for downloading and saving files within this period.
The Studio is not responsible for files that are not downloaded within the active period, for loss of files after delivery, or for compatibility issues arising from the client's software or devices.
Turnaround times are estimates based on current queue and project complexity. Timelines are communicated in the commission agreement. Rush delivery, where available, is subject to an additional fee.
All artwork created by SarahCVL Art remains the intellectual property of the Studio under Egyptian Intellectual Property Law No. 82 of 2002 unless a full copyright transfer is explicitly agreed in writing and documented in a separate agreement.
The Studio retains the right to display completed commission work in the portfolio, on this website and in promotional materials, unless the client requests otherwise in writing before the commission is confirmed. Confidential commercial work will not be displayed without client consent.
Personal commissions are delivered with a personal use license. This permits the client to print the artwork for personal display and to use it digitally for non-commercial purposes. The artwork may not be reproduced for sale, used in advertising, published commercially or transferred to third parties without a separate commercial license.
Commercial commissions are delivered with a written commercial license document specifying the permitted use, territory and duration. The license applies only to the agreed use case. Use beyond the licensed scope requires a separate agreement.
Full copyright transfer is available as a separately priced option and must be agreed in writing before work begins.
Cancellation before sketch delivery: the deposit minus any administrative costs already incurred will be refunded. The client will be notified of the deducted amount.
Cancellation after sketch delivery but before final artwork completion: the deposit is non-refundable. The approved sketch file will be provided to the client.
Cancellation after final file delivery: no refund is available. The commission is considered complete upon delivery of final files.
The Studio may cancel a commission if the brief requests content that conflicts with applicable law or the Studio's ethical guidelines. In this case, a full deposit refund is issued.
The Studio does not accept commissions for artwork that depicts or promotes illegal activity, content that infringes the intellectual property rights of third parties, content that is defamatory or harmful to identifiable individuals, or content that violates applicable Egyptian law.
The Studio reserves the right to decline any commission at its discretion without providing a reason.
The Studio's liability in connection with any commission is limited to the total amount paid by the client for that commission. The Studio is not liable for indirect losses, loss of profit, loss of data or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the commissioned artwork.
The Studio does not represent that artwork will meet any specific commercial outcome. The suitability of artwork for its intended use is the responsibility of the client.
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. Any disputes arising from commission agreements will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Cairo Governorate, Egypt.
These Terms of Service may be updated from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Terms in effect at the time a commission is confirmed apply to that commission. Updated terms apply to commissions confirmed after the update date.
